Cultivation of Loving Kindness and Compassion in Daily Life

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We are always advised to learn to have love, kindness and compassion towards others, to family members and friends. Further to that, we are also encouraged to show these noble qualities to people we do not know and even to our enemies and also not to forget, towards other beings such as animals.

But how practical is that? How can we overcome the hatred or ill-will feeling and have loving and kind thoughts, speech and action towards others? How do we cultivate loving-kindness and compassion in our daily life when we are dealing with others?

Let us come together and learn more by joining a talk organized by DSG this Wednesday

Date:30/8/06 (Wed)
Time: 8:00pm
Venue: DR 2016 (1st floor, FCM Building)
Title: Cultivation of Loving Kindness and Compassion in Daily Life

Compassion & Loving-Kindness

Two very human qualities that are highly regarded in Buddhism are Compassion and Loving-kindness . Together with two other mental qualities, Sympathetic Joy and Equanimity, they are know as the Four Divine Abidings.

The Buddha recommended that we develop these qualities. These attitudes are said to be excellent or sublime because they are the right or ideal way of conduct towards living beings. They provide the answer to all situations arising from social contact. They are the great removers of tension, the great peace-makers in social conflict, and the great healers of wounds suffered in the struggle of existence........

experience, grow together in a circle of wise friends,
encourage each other spiritually, keep the karmic
force closer to us, create a strong friendship bond.

Q. Why I want to be a "committee"?
A. To learn and share our knowledge to others by conducting Dhamma activities.
